“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” (Matthew 6:34)

Good morning!!

Well, for most of you receiving this it will be the middle of the night but here in South Africa it is a bright and COLD morning. I wanted to send an update to let you all know my teammates, myself, and all our luggage made it safely to Johannesburg, South Africa last night! What a praise that God has provided so much up to this point and continues to provide more than I can even imagine, moment by moment.

With all the stress and complications that can pop up while preparing for a trip like this, in one of my most doubtful and stressful moments I heard Jesus say to me, “Amanda, do you not trust me?”. Well of course I do, but my actions continue to discount that claim. I am learning that to trust is to let go. To not force or try to work things out in my own way apart from God. But to walk, talk, breathe, and live in such a way that solidifies the fact I believe my God is good and my God is in control. He takes care of the big picture things without missing a single detail.

All that to say, I am continuing to learn to trust God in every aspect of life here in South Africa. I ask you would please be praying over these things with me. Again, I cannot express how much each of your support and prayers mean to me. I believe there is an authority in prayer that when we truly believe God is who He says He is, we can take hold of and walk in confidence.

Prayer Points:

  • jet lag to wear off quickly! i need proper rest!
  • comparison would have NO place in my heart or this home
  • release from distractions of home
  • adjustment to living in community and the cold
  • all attempts the enemy would use would have no victory here
  • i would be obedient in trusting the Lord

All this for the glory of God and the furthering of His kingdom!
