Hello! Here is where you can learn some things about me!! I suppose you already know my name because it is the title of my website but incase you did not catch on, I am Amanda Hobbs.. and welcome to my blog!

I am 18 years old and I have lived in Johnstown (go johnnies!), a little country town in Ohio, my whole life. I have been involved in band and volleyball throughout my years there. I love to write and take cool pictures of cool things. I will almost never say no to a bowl of ice cream or mac & cheese. My hidden talent is that I can relate basically any real life situation to a scene from the Office. I think sharks are one of the coolest things God has created, other than sunsets and His grace for us. I tend to be called both the emotional and mom friend, but I wear both of the labels with pride. I love just sitting down, talking with people and just learning about the stories in their life.

I literally just graduated high school and felt the LORD calling me to take a gap year from school last summer. I did not know what He would have me do, where I would go or what I would study if I ever I returned to school but I did know that He is faithful. Through the power of prayer He has led me to this trip three month trip to South Africa!! He has surpassed every one of my expectations. What a good and glorious God we serve. I am so excited to see all He has already prepared and planned for me as I respond in obedience to taking the gospel to the lost. I hope you follow along on the ride as I share more leading up to the trip and while I am there!

EDIT: (updated 5/29/22)
I am now 21 years old, have moved out of my hometown to another small town called Wilmore Kentucky to attend Asbury University. I am studying secondary English education and mostly loving every second of this season of life! During school I am involved in campus ministries that highlight the need to fulfill the Great Commission and seek to serve in my local church when I am here in the states. I am so grateful for the way I can see the Lord has grown me into who I am today since I typed that introduction back in 2019 as I was preparing for my first overseas mission trip. All glory to Him!
